Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher ‘quite possibly’ seen for first time in 11 years at daughter’s wedding: Reports

Legendary Formula 1 driver Michael Schumacher reportedly made his first public appearance 11 years after his near-fatal skiing accident in 2013, attending his daughter Gina-Marie’s wedding in Spain’s Mallorca, according to multiple reports.

The Mirror reported that the F1 legend was seen at his daughter’s wedding at their four-acre Majorca villa in Spain. German newspaper Bild cited sources saying Schumacher was “quite possibly” present at the ceremony where Gina-Maria married Iain Bethke.

The event was closely guarded, and guests were reportedly requested to leave their phones at the reception to maintain privacy.

The event marks what could be Schumacher’s first appearance in public in over a decade, though it remained unclear if he was able to socialise freely at the wedding.

There is also speculation that Schumacher might attend another event soon, as his son, Mick Schumacher, is rumoured to have proposed to his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, said the report.

Schumacher’s disappearance

Michael Schumacher, considered one the greatest Formula 1 drivers in history, won a record-setting seven Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles. His life took a tragic turn in December 2013 when he suffered a traumatic brain injury after slamming his head on a rock while skiing with his son, Mick, and friends in the French Alps.

He was taken to a hospital and was placed in a medically induced and has been receiving extensive care. The family has been highly protective of his privacy, providing few updates about his health condition over the years.

It has been reported over the years that the 55-year-old Schumacher is paralysed, uses a wheelchair, cannot speak and has memory problems. Months ago, rumours suggested that the F1 legend was staying at a lavish mansion in Spain’s Mallorca, where he is being cared for by his wife, Corinna, and a team of doctors.

Former F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, who is close to the family, previously revealed that Schumacher was “not doing well.”

Schumacher, at the time of retirement in 2012, had the records for most wins (91), pole positions (68), and podium finishes (155).
